My family survived 9 hours of air travel yesterday and we are happily spending time with family in Texas. It was an adventure that involved 3 flights, missed naptimes and getting in hours after my kids should have been in bed. The rest of my family is heading in today so I thought I’d have a snack awaiting them on their arrival. They’ve all been warned that they will be subjected to several new recipes while we are together (I’m making 5 new recipes for Thanksgiving alone!) so I thought a sweet treat would be a great welcome to everyone.
I’d stumbled upon this recipe for Thanksgiving Puppy Chow on Pinterest and seen it for Halloween. I thought it would be a perfect fall treat with the colors of the Reece’s Pieces. I’ve never made puppy chow but who doesn’t love cereal coated in chocolate and tossed in powdered sugar. I liked the varying tastes and textures in this recipe and think it’s an improved version of the original recipe. It’s just as delicious as I thought it would be! If I made it again, I’d probably leave out the peanuts simply because I’m not a huge fan of them. Be warned that this stuff is incredibly addictive! I’ve had to resort to moving the bowl because I just don’t have any self-control.
If you are looking for a last minute treat to wow your guests, give this recipe a try. I guarantee that you will love the results.
