I realize that it’s the day before Thanksgiving but if you are like me, you may do being a little last minute prep too. I thought I’d take some time to walk you through our Thanksgiving menu.
We actually got to do a trial run of Thanksgiving recipes while we were in Lubbock a few weeks ago. For the second year in a row Currey and my brother Jeffrey fried a turkey. I don’t typically eat turkey but this turkey proves that anything deep fried is delicious. It’s equally beautiful and a great center piece for your thanksgiving table.
As far as sides go, I’m making Pioneer Woman’s Cornbread stuffing. Oh my goodness, this stuff is amazing! I used all cornbread instead of half cornbread and half white bread. This is easy to prepare and so delicious! It will be a great addition to your thanksgiving menu.
I’m trying out this new recipe for roasted brussel sprouts from Rachel Schultz. Every big meal needs a new recipe of two!
No holiday meal is complete without The Pioneer Woman’s macaroni and cheese. I’ve made this recipe countless times with several cheese combinations. My current favorite is half smoked gouda and half sharp white cheddar. It’s rich and creamy. Whether you add this to your Thanksgiving menu or your weeknight meal plan, you’ll love this recipe.
We are rounding out the sides with party potatoes. This is a recipe that we’ve enjoyed countless times growing up. It’s an interesting spin on mashed potatoes.
For dessert we’ll be having a buttermilk pie and a chocolate chip pie for dessert.
What’s your Thanksgiving menu?
