One of my favorite ways to start the day is with breakfast as a family. Not the frantic pouring of cereal with a splash of milk, inhaled before flying out the door to our first activity breakfast but the breakfasts that we have the luxury to linger over. A breakfast that takes a little time to create, is served warm and gives us time to sit around the table and discuss whatever my kids have on their minds.
While these meals happen much less frequently then I would like, I treasure them when they occur. I realize that even though my kids are young, they have so much to say. I love listening to their words and stories. It’s hilarious and precious! I’m always looking for recipes that are quick and easy but are more interesting than toast or cereal.
Chocolate croissants are one of my children’s favorites. I’ll admit that it’s a stretch to call this a recipe. It’s a pairing of 2 simple ingredients to make a semi-homemade Chocolate Croissant. Simply roll chocolate chips in store bought crescent rolls for homemade Chocolate Croissants. These are a real treat for my kids because they get to eat a couple of chocolate chips while we cook. It’s a small treat and they can’t believe they are having chocolate for breakfast. What’s your favorite meal to enjoy for breakfast as a family?

1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
¼ cup chocolate chips
