Have you noticed a theme with my Christmas breakfast recommendations yet? They are all filled with butter and lots of sugar. I think holidays are reason to enjoy great food with those that you love the most. What better way to show others the depth of your love than with ooey gooey icing covered cinnamon rolls?
This recipe for Cinnamon Rolls is from Pioneer Woman’s Cookbook. She recommends giving these as gifts for your friends and neighbors. I promise no one will turn these down! I made these over the summer while we were stacationing with friends. I’d had these on my “to make” list for a while but I had needed a crowd to feed. These could easily be halved but if you need to feed a crowd make a full batch. I promise that they will be eaten quickly!
The process is a little messy but the finished product is so unbelievably fantastic!
Make sure that you have plenty of workspace. I didn’t give myself enough room and kept spilling melted butter on the floor. Like I said, the process is messy!
The coffee adds an amazing flavor to the icing. I went a little overboard on the icing. Everyone else really enjoyed them but I could have done with less icing. I’d drizzle the cinnamon rolls with icing and then leave extra icing if your guests to add to theirs individually. I can guarantee that if these grace your Christmas table, your guests might even forget that there are presents!
