Happy New Year sweet friends and faithful blog readers!
It’s hard for me to believe but my little blog has been around for 6 months now. My how the time has flown! I’ve learned so much and I’ve loved connecting with so many of you. I am so thankful for your kind words of encouragement and support all along the journey. It’s so fun to get pictures and texts of meals that you’ve made from the blog. I love knowing that so many of you are cooking along with me. What a joy!
In these 6 months, I’ve challenged myself, made some really delicious food and shared that food with lots of people. I’ve realized that I love blogging more than I ever imagined. I’ve also realized that I’m more creative in the kitchen than I ever knew I was. I’m so excited to see where the next 6 months will take me.
Currey and I have talked regularly about where this blog is headed. I’m a dreamer and I spend lots of time imagining about all the possibilities. With that being said, we are making some changes in the new year. I’ve been cooking at a rate that I’m on track with 365 new recipes but my current lifestyle does not allow me to post daily. Currey and my sweet kids are my priorities and I’m not willing to sacrifice my time with them to get all the recipes blogged. In addition, I’m finding that not everything that I cook is worth sharing.
In an effort to balance my family, work, friends and other responsibilities, I’m going to end my epic quest. I want to make sure that I’m providing quality posts with amazing recipes, instead of a certain quantity of posts. I’m looking forward to sharing more original recipes in the months ahead as well. I’ll keep posting several times a week. There’s lots of great food in my future!
Thanks for taking the time to read these posts, cook the recipes and share with me what you are making. May this new year be full of great food and wonderful friends to share it with!

As much as I have enjoyed reading your blogs and trying some new recipes, I totally relate to and encourage your desire to be more balanced. It’s one of my biggest struggles in life. So, bravo to you and look forward to seeing some of your yummy recipes in the future. 🙂

Amy,
Thanks for your kind words! Balance is so hard but I think it’s worth working for. I’m glad you’ve tried some new recipes. Hope you’ve found some that your family enjoys. I’m loving the journey!

I was beginning to think you were Superwoman for being a blogger, cook, wife, and mommy! I’m trying to be better about planning meals and trying new recipes. Any advice? Also, what are your little ones doing while you’re cooking? Occasionally I will get lucky and my little guy will nap before dinner, but usually he’s right under my feet “helping”. Would love for you to give me some pointers when you get a chance!

Ariel,
You should know that I don’t have it all together! You’ve known me long enough! 🙂 Can I just tell you I was so encouraged by your questions? We’ve been talking about doing some posts on meal planning and your question affirmed that people might be interested in that! I’m working on those posts now. I’m looking forward to sharing what works for us in hopes that it helps. They’ll hopefully be up by the end of the month. I’m so glad that you are joining me as I cook. So fun to have the support of so many precious friends.
