Where does the time go?  I’ve been absent from the blog again.  We just returned from a trip to Texas to celebrate Bennett’s 1st birthday.  I’ll be sharing recipes and pictures from his party in the near future. I took my laptop home and had good intentions to write while we were away but I was having too much fun to think about getting on the computer!  We got to celebrate several family milestones, we bought a new car and we tried to soak up every moment with our families.  It was a wonerful trip!

To kick off a new month and getting back to regular posting I’m hosting another giveaway.  You may have noticed that the blog has been redesigned.  Currey has worked tirelessly to create a look that we love.  In my mind, nothing says southern cooking like a cast iron skillet.  In honor of the redesign, we are giving away a cast iron skillet and one of my favorite Southern Cookbooks.

This Lodge Cast Iron Skillet is 10 inches and will be a welcomed addition to your kitchen.  Skillet cornbread is a favorite at our house but I imagine your family will quickly come up with a favorite recipe in this skillet.

If you’ve read My Chicken Fried Life very long, you know I love The Pioneer Woman.  In addition to the skillet I’m giving away a copy of The Pioneer Woman Cooks Food From My Frontier.  I make recipes from this cookbook on a weekly basis.  Her recipes are fail proof and are always delicious.  I can’t say enough great things about all of Ree’s recipes.
