One of my favorite things about cooking is creating an interesting and flavorful recipe using very basic ingredients. Sure, I love to make a gourmet meal with a list of ingredients that I had to go to multiple stores to secure. But I also love making a delicious lunch for my family with a handful of ingredients that are staples in my house.
Ham and Cheese sliders may seem like such a simple recipe that you wouldn’t even need a recipe to make them. But I promise, you want to use this recipe to make your sliders!
Instead of using rolls, the recipe starts with biscuits. I’m a sucker for biscuit sandwiches, which may be part of the reason that I love this recipe! Simply stuff your biscuits with meat and cheese then brush the tops of the sandwiches with poppy seed sauce and bake.
I love these sandwiches because they are so easy to customize. In stead of ham and cheese, use a flavored mayo with turkey and cheddar or try roast beef, caramelized onions and Swiss. These sandwiches are so easy to make which makes them perfect for entertaining. An entire platter full would be a great main dish for any holiday party. Or tuck this recipe away and make sliders with your leftover Christmas ham. It’s a simple sandwich reinvented!
